While every day of Sawan is considered significant, the Puranas say that those who offer water, milk, and Panchamrit to the Shivalinga on Sawan Mondays are far from misfortune. Lord Shiva bless them with happiness, prosperity, and no shortage of anything. For those who wish to begin the 16-Monthly fast, the first Monday of Sawan will be very auspicious.
According to Shiv Purana, worshipping Lord Shiva during the month of Sawan is especially fruitful and helps in overcoming sins and fulfilling desire.
As per mythological beliefs, the churning of the ocean took place in the month of Sawan.
